Google has announced that it’s shutting down its URL shortening service, stopping submissions by accounts created from April 13 2018 and disbanding the platform for all other customers on March 30 2019. Anyone who had not used before March 31 would not be allowed to create new short links.

The company encouraged consumers who wanted to create new short links to either make use of its free FDL service or to use an alternative link shortening service.
